A perfect Sunday with... Lindy Ryan

Every week, a top writer, artist or creator reveals how they’d fill their perfect Sunday, sharing their favourite comfort reads, movies, food… anything that would make their weekend great.

Today, it’s the turn of the editor of Under Her Eye, Lindy Ryan.

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… brunch

Being the type who never wakes up in time for a proper breakfast but starves by noon, I’m a huge fan of brunch. Rich, creamy coffee, some fresh fruit and maybe a crepe or a slice of French toast, and that sounds like heaven.

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… read

I’m currently doing a reread of Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles for a year-long column at Rue Morgue, and reserve weekends just for this series. I find that it’s the perfect time to sink into such a rich world and dynamic characters and to allow my imagination to run wild.

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… comic

I’m a huge fan of Garfield. Bring on the lasagna!

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… movie

Shaun of the Dead. No regrets.

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… TV binge

Probably a little off-brand for me, but I consistently binge Grace & Frankie when I need a perfect binge-watch. The cast is phenomenal, the writing divine, and I will forever adore Lily Tomlin.

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… podcast

I’m actually not a huge podcast listener, but I do have some bangin’ ‘80s playlists that tend to run on repeat on Sundays.

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… album

Guns N Roses, Type O Negative, or Depeche Mode—or whatever live music is currently happening in my house.

Lindy’s perfect Sunday… treat

A nice walk with my dog and my guy, or lounging around outdoors at the beach or in the garden.
