Fan Art Friday: Lights, Camera Action figures...
Plus: Gwenpool #4's awesome variant cover artist and a quick AMA!

I was in London yesterday for meetings and bookshop browsing*. Caught the bus home and was idly scrolling through Bluesky when a post made me 'Ha!' outloud, which scared the nice lady sitting next to me.
Sorry, nice lady.
This was the post, a little photo strip by user OverHeaven:

Thanks for the lol, Overheaven.
If you don't follow them, they're probably the world's number one fan of Cecil, Gwenpool's ghostly pal from the original brilliant Hastings run. And yes, that's a Cecil figure they've created to go with their Gwenpool action figure!

Also on Bluesky, artist Rickie Yagawa showcased their excellent cover for issue 4, highlighting some of the little easter eggs dotted around.

I mean, what's not to love about a Secret Wars ref? That was the book that got me into Marvel, but adding Jeff to the mix would've just be perfect!
Colours there by Nolan Woodard, btw!
GWEN AMA
While I was on Bluesky, I answered a few quick questions about the Gwenpool run. Thought I'd gather them here to have 'em all in one place.
There might be spoilers here for a few folk, so be warned!
From gwenpoolsuperfan.bsky.social:
When Gwen became a ghost, did something happen to her mind? I know she's upset she died, but her treatment of Kate was kinda jarring. It gave the vibe she wasn't in her right mind.
Absolutely. Being dead will mess you up, especially when someone else is out there pulling the strings of the universe.
From Knight:
1. Favourite part of the Gwenpool book so far? Any moment in the book that blew your mind while working on it?
2. Is there gonna be a reason Stacy’s mindscape goes to a comic shop or…? (Ignore if it’s a spoiler)
3. Think there’s a future for the character after this book in sight?
1. Being able to use the black Spidey costume 'cos it was always my fave (yup, my love of Secret Wars as a kid has A LOT to do with that!) As for my favourite bit so far… the graveyard sequence, I think.
2. Yes. We don’t lay it out explicitly in the comic, but it has nothing to do with Gwen Stacy.
3. I hope so! It's not my decision, but if it were anything to do with me, there would be as many Gwenpool books as possible. I love her.
From It's Just Al:
Is there any specific character you'd like for Gwenpool to interact with? Any character at all, not exclusive to Marvel?
Well, other than her original team…
She’d definitely have a few things to say to Batman.
Beyond that, just imagine Gwen hopping from franchise to franchise, genre to genre…
From Mildloser:
Will we go back to penguin backpack back being sometime in the new Gwenpool run. Swords are meh, penguin backpack is goated.
Heather Antos has already told me off about this. Unfortunately, the backpack doesn’t make it into this run. But who knows what the future holds…
Oh, there were also a couple of Star Wars: The High Republic questions:
From Nicholas Back Home:
When storyboarding The High Republic, was it always three phases?
Yes! And it was always planned to end in 2025. As the (infamous) whiteboard said right at the beginning, having an actual end in sight was important to us.
From Rookiee99:
If you could own a prop from the High Republic, what would it be?
Well, I already have a few lightsabers (Keeve’s, Sskeer’s, Ty’s), so I would have to go for a Nameless stop-motion model if such a thing existed! They do in my head, modelled by Phil Tippett, because wouldn't that be cool?
Just a few of the questions there. Don't forget, you don't have to wait until an AMA to ask me a question. You can submit them at any time via my Ask Me Anything form and I'll answer them here on the blog / newsletter!

* I fell off my 'I-will-definitely-not-buy-new-books wagon' while in Foyles. Couldn't resist this one:
