THE BIG QUESTION: Which sequel is better than the original?
Everyone has one. What’s your sequel hot take?
This morning, I found myself on Radio Bristol talking to the great Joe Sims about sequels that are better than the original film.
My two choices were:
- ALIENS: Don't come at me! I know Alien is a classic, I know it's terrifying, but Aliens has the Colonial Marines (especially Hudson), it has the relationship between Ripley and Newt (glares at Alien 3), it has the Queen, and it has a classic line I definitely couldn't say at 7.10am on BBC local radio!
Interestingly, I also watched Aliens before Alien, so I wonder if my love for the sequel has something to do with that. - NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION: As I told Joe, while I enjoy the original, I could never watch National Lampoon's Vacation and be quite happy with my lot in life, but Christmas isn't Christmas without watching Clark Griswold Jr deck his halls!
So now I want to throw the question over to you: what sequel is better than the original in your eyes? Convince me in the comments!
Leave your answer in the comments.

PS: And yes, the xenomorph is right. Grease 2 is the better movie, but that's an argument for another day...
